CBS Runs A Story About 'America First' Certification
April 28, 2017

CBS ran a story last night about the 'America First' certification. It included quotes from an interview with the company's founder and a local attorney whose firm has qualified for the certification.

Man's Push For 'America First' Not Political, But All Business

CBS46 met a metro Atlanta man who says his push for "America First" is not political, but all about business.

He says it doesn't hurt that the president's message has gotten plenty of attention. "Luckily, we started this before he even got it's nice for us," says Charlie Bross.

For Bross, of Alpharetta, the timing couldn't be better for his "America First" certification program. He says President Trump's executive order earlier in April to "Buy America, Hire America" is practically free advertising.

Bross says his company helps businesses stand out.

"For those companies who already buy American, hire American, and source American, how do their customers know?" asks Bross. "So the certification gives them that. Basically, it's a value-add that they can help promote to their customers."

After meeting specific qualifications and going through a verification process, companies are certified and can add the America First certification seal to their website and products.

Well before the president's executive order, a Harvard-Harris poll found that 74 percent of Americans believed the federal government should adopt a "Buy American, Hire American" policy. A total of 80 percent of Americans say they would rather buy an American-made product than one that was imported from another country.

"A lot of law firms are big conglomerates with firms all over the world, and mine is strictly in the United States, domestic," says attorney Jeff Timmons.

Timmons lives in Lilburn and says an American First certification was a perfect fit for his law practice. "I think it would be good for the country," says Timmons. "The more companies buy and use local firms and products and services, the better off we are all are."
